Turkey Day

Had a good Turkey weekend. To start things off, it was really cold. We went to dinner on Wednesday night but almost wanted to cancel cause it felt too cold to be outdoors. We skipped the watching of the blowing up the Macy Parade Balloons cause we would have been too cold. So of course we had a decent evening of drinking. Met some new peeps from Cali...weird how being here, I'm meeting all these Cali people...and not just Cali people but Bay Area people.

My Thursday wasn't very productive. I finally got to sleep in...felt nice. Then got up, watched some tv and then got ready to go to my friends place to make our turkey dinner. Wow, was her place nice. It's on the upper east side. She works for the Canadian Consolate and they subsidise her place...it's a 2 bedroom. Anyways, she's such a good cook too...it was her first time making a turkey but it turned out perfect. Nice and juicy. Then she made Mac & Cheese, cranberry sauce and stuffing. I only made mashed potatoes and put together the salad. But the meal was sooo good. After the dinner, we watched a movie, but it was hard to stay up from all the turkey we ate. Got home around 2.

On friday, it was an even lazier day. My friends from my old job in the Bay Area came to visit and were showing up at 11pm. I slept in, watched tv and cleaned my apartment...oh and ran errands. Thank God Dim Sum is in Vancouver cause there was 5 of us in my little studio apartment. They showed up at 11pm and we went to a bar in lower east side...after we were finished with that bar we went to Meat Packing to drink at a few bars there and met up with one of my friends from work...long night...left the bars around 4:30 I think...not really sure.

On Saturday, we spent the day walking around NYC. It was really nice cause I hadn't really walked around NYC that much either. We were so tired towards 5 that we had to stop for wine...then went home to rest...dinner wasn't until 10:30. We went to eat at Mercer's Kitchen...the food was ok, the service was good at the beginning and then faded and they sat us at the worst possible table...right by the kitchen. It was so damn hot in there, we were dying and had to ask for so much ice and water...made the meal very uncomfortable. Oh well...after dinner we went to BlueNote and watch a jazz show...it was really good but we were all so tired and ready to go to bed...and the show didn't let out till 3am.

On Sunday, we just went to brunch, watched Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (it was really good), went to the top of Rockerfeller Centre, had dinner, went on the Staten Island Ferry and watched a movie at home. Another long day.

Anyways, everyone left today and I think this weekend, I'm going to try to clean my apartment and do a lot of my xmas shopping. Should be fun! Not really...we'll see what happens.

I have a theory... if you eat enough turkey, you'll start to gobble like one.
