Back in NYC
So I'm finally back in NYC. Boy is it hot! I went on the subway for the first time being back on Wednesday and oh my...was it ever hot. I felt like I was going to faint...it was so stuffy down there. Luckily there is AC on the subway cars. I feel sorry for my friend in Paris that has no AC in the subway cars. Being back in this muggy weather isn't so appealing. It's making me tired and not wanting to go out since once you step outside you want to run back in to take a shower.
Anyways, I finally bought my TV online yesterday and am not trying to hook up my internet and cable at home. But I guess I'll have to wait till my TV arrives before I can have that all hooked up.
My first official day at work was on Wednesday. What was I to expect at my office in NYC that I have never been to. I show up at 8am...go to the security desk to find out that my name is not on the list of visitors to the office. I have to go and call the Deleware office to have my name added to the list. 20 minutes later, my name is added and I'm given a temporary pass. I go upstairs to find out that there is no one at the office yet. The lights are off and doors locked...great! What to do now. To top it off I have to go to the bathroom and it requires a key. I go back down the elevator and head to starbucks to use the bathroom and grab a water. Decide to sit there for 30 min so that they door will be open by the time I return. I go back up the elevator and lucky me, it's open. I sit at my desk and what do I do? Surf the internet. Find projects to do...so now since I don't have any client assignments, I sit in the office 3-4 days a week and do "personal development". It's great for me for now since my personal development includes, buying my TV and setting up my internet and cable. But what am I to do if I'm here for too long...how will I ever be able to go back out and do real work? Well I guess this is the life and I can't complain. Oh and for now...I get to work from home 1-2 days a week!

Yes consider yourself lucky that there is A/C in the subway cars. As you said, there is none here in the metro. Temperatures here don't get too hot like in NYC but when your underground, it doesnt really matter. And yes, what they say is true, French people smell. So not only are you sweating in the metro but the people around you stink, and you're gasping for air.
