Dating
How would someone define dating? I think everyone defines it differently. I was out with my friends this weekend and talking about dating. I, myself, don't think I've really dated in my life...now that I'm thinking of it, I guess I mean more casual dating? Moving to NYC, everyone is always out on dates and with different people. I've always had a boyfriend or was single...never really thought of a dating stage except with maybe just a few guys in my life.
Now one of my other friends is saying that her definition of dating is going out with someone of the opposite sex and getting to know them is a date...but what if there is no intention there for it to go further and you are just hanging out as friends? Is that not just hanging out with friends...especially when you make it known that it's purely just a friendship. I feel that it is just friends.
So when you meet new people and you hang out with them one on one, is that considered dating? Wouldn't that just be hanging out with your friend and getting to know them as your friend because you just met? As long as there is no romantic intention, I don't think that's dating...

so, are you saying you 'want' to date?
Don't think that you are dating but someone else thinks you are?
or do you just need some lovin'?
w00t! LOL
Haha...no, I'm just trying to define dating and what people think the definition is as it appears to have a different definition to each person.
Interesting question. I asked the same question before, and people seemed to have a general agreement about it, even if we had technical differences. I found that other people were asking the same question around the same time.
You meet someone new of the opposite sex, you hang out with them and they already are your friend?
Guess it depends on how you define a friend.
Why bother with such distinctions anyways? Does it really matter?
:T ok, I got it!
If you gaze into each others eyes and you get that tingly feeling in your stomach then its a date. If you are nauseated by the other person then its not a date, or maybe you just drank too much... one or the other.
Sounds like you and Ben should go on a date! w00t!
The definition will be different between the two if one is into the other person but the other is not.
What difference does it make?
The only people that ask that question are the people that don't have any dates.
