Weekend in NYC

I'm finally back in NYC and I feel like a need a weekend to rest. It's cold out and I've just been really tired. Anyways, we go to happy hour on Friday, leave and go to a Benefit and then to 2 bars. Not a bad night, still get home by 2am and can't believe we did so much...was so tired though. On Saturday, I went to the japanese market in New Jersey and then home to rest. Wanted to stay in on Saturday night but my friend had some friends from out of town. Finally dragged myself out of bed at 10:30pm and went to meet up with them...so this is where the story begins...

I get to this bar in east village and there is a line. The guys are already inside (4 of them) and the doors are glass so I can see them inside and wave. So of course I have to line up and I don't mind so much cause my other friend is not there yet so we'd have to wait for her anyways. Anyways, one of the guys come out and try to get me in (there are only like 12 people in front of me)...the bouncer says no. Then 10 minutes pass and another guy comes out and tries to get me in...nope same thing...he then decides to come outside and stand and wait with me...really nice of him. Anyways, half an hour passes and we are at the front of the line finally. We're still waiting for my friend to show up and call her...she's a few minutes away. I tell the bouncer that we have to wait a few minutes before he even tries to let us in...and he just laughs and says, she'd be cutting the line. I then go on to say that the guy was already inside so in fact he's just standing in line for her. And he smiles...in the mean time, my other friend comes outside with his coat in hand. What's going on? Was he leaving? Anyways, he goes on to tell us that he was kicked out of the bar. What??? The hell does he get kicked out of the bar...so this is what happened. He was standing there and the waitress was walking by with drinks and drops one on his leg...he's thinking...not a big deal, it's an accident. Anyways, she walks by again and drops another drink on him...haha. He's like, excuse me, can I get some napkins, you drops some drinks on me. She says she'll go and get some...so she walks by again...no napkins. And he asks her again and she goes on to say, go get it yourself. There's the bar. Now my friend gets mad and starts arguing with her...the owner comes by and tells him to calm down and he's trying to explain his story but the owner doesn't want to hear it. Then he goes on to say, one more word and you're out. And of course, he gets thrown out! Haha...right when we get to the front of the line...what great timing!

Haha...anyways, we go to another bar and hang out there and get home at 5am...so tired on Sunday but managed to wake up at 10:30 to go for Shanghai soup dumplings. I go home and rest a little more and head over to Morimoto's new restaurant for our 8:45 reservations...of course we don't get seated till 9:30, but they did give us free appetizers cause of the wait. I must say, wasn't really impressed with the food. The sashimi was good but the rest was overpriced, cooked food. I remember thinking that in Philly too but figured, it might be different here. Oh well...now we know. We then head over to a bar till 1am and head home to start our work week...wow what a long weekend!

That story about your friend getting kicked out of the bar is so wrong! -from the guy that got kicked out

PS - Squirl left out the fact that she dragged a bunch of us around Chinatown for 4 hours on Sunday so that she could save $10 on a new cell phone; and now she can't figure out how to use it.

Haha...don't exagerate! It was not 4 hours. It was more like 1 1/2 hours...and I don't need to learn how to use my phone...my friends can help me. ;)

Hahaha ... damn, clubbing stories. You'd think that by now, we'd be past the "waiting in line" status for clubbing, huh? We're supposed to be the "regulars" now, or know somebody who knows a guy who knows the owner or whatever. What happened there?? Where's my VIP pass??
