TV Delivery
So I asked my ex-subletter to sit in my apartment to wait for my TV to arrive between the window of 11am to 4pm. Ok..that's kinda a big window but I guess that's how they do stuff in NYC.
So I call at 11am...nope no TV.
I call at 3pm...nope no TV.
I call at 5pm...nope no TV...he's got to go.
Oh no...what to do now. I call the Delivery company (they outsourced the delivery) and they check on the driver and they tell me he's stuck in traffic and won't get to my place till 6:30pm.
"Well, I'm at work can you have him call me 1/2 hour before he gets there" Ok they say. So I rush home and 6:30...no call...I'm thinking...should I leave to walk Dim Sum...wait a little longer...no call.
6:50pm...I get a call..."where are you located exactly?"
"Are you close?"
"Yah...I'll be there in 5 min"
Well after all that...he arrives, he's really nice and I'm sure he hears yelling all day so I'm just like..."well can you put the stand and TV together for me?" He does it and he's off....gosh I got to remind myself that they are always late on deliveries!!!!

Yeah, they're always behind with those schedules. I mean, they know they're be inaccurate in when they can get to your place, which is why they usually have those windows of time. But then to arrive OUTSIDE that window ... is the window still not large enough??
The internet (ADSL) company here told me between 6pm and 9pm. I requested between 7pm and 9pm, since I had to leave work and all that -- they agreed. So I'm sitting at home, having cancelled my workout plans and other engagements for the night.
They call at 8:30pm saying they're running late and can they please do it tomorrow night? I told them later this same night is fine -- 10pm, 11pm, I don't care, because I've already cancelled everything to be there. (As in, "You. Come tonight.") So they said, okay, 10pm.
I had an hour, so I headed to the local supermarket -- halfway there, I get a call from another service technician guy who said he was at my front door waiting for me! He sounded irritated that I wasn't home to receive him, but I didn't care -- I told him some other guy agreed to 10pm, that's why.
Anyway, long story short, I ended up getting what I wanted (installation that evening) because I told them what's what. We set up a time, and I told them to deliver on it. (Felt GOOD.)
