Horoscopes and Fortune Tellers
Do we really live in a society that can predict our future? Although most of us sit here and say we don't believe in horoscopes and fortune tellers, I feel that there is a part of me that would like to believe that they were true. I've never been one to read my horoscope religiously but of course at the end of every magazine, I would read my horoscope and sit there and think if it sounded generic where it could apply to everyone or if it seemed specific enough. Then I would sit there and wonder...is it going to be true? I've started to read the horoscope on a more regular basis now...and although I know it's full of crap, I sometimes wish that we were able to predict our future.
I've also recently wanted to go see a fortune teller. But have been scared cause what if she tells me something bad is going to happen. Who knows, I guess I'll just have to go and see.

Fortune tellers usually provide you with an insight of your characteristic and they guide you through the obstacles that may come. I believe in fortune telling and I believe not everyone has that gift. I've gone to a few different ones and there are a few things that they say in common. So I take those common comments more seriously. I like astrology and I use it as a guideline in relationships but it's mostly for fun.
Interesting that you believe in horoscopes and fortune tellers. In fact, it's even more interesting that you believe in the more common things that they tell you -- I guess you're taking faith in the general trend of many data points -- when I would be inclined to think (skeptically) that the common things they say are just filler and "safe bets" to say.
I don't have enough money as it is, without having to give it to some lady/man I've never met who claims to be able to tell me that my future is set a certain way. I hold my own destiny in my own hands. And though that's probably not the best place for it to be, I'd rather it be in mine than someone else's.
Actually I don't believe in the common things that the horoscopes tell us. I filter those ones out...it's the more specific ones that I sit there and wonder if it's really true. Usually they aren't but I'd wish one day, it could be...especially if it was to tell me that I was going to be rich!
I believe in psychics and fortune tellers, but not the phonies. But it's kinda weird to know things you're not supposed to know
One of the basic principles of physics is that engery can be transferred but not created nor destroyed. This is how you can predict the path of a pool ball when hit by the cue ball based on angle, velocity, weight, and various other factors. If the big bang theory holds true for the universe, then the future and fate of every one of us has already been determined. So yes, the future is known and can be predicted, however, highly doubtful that any one human being is able to figure out such an equation. We may think we have control of our own destiny, when in fact, the mere thought of that, is already part of the equation somehow.

this is all *non-sense*!!
why do people believe in those things and not believe and trust in God?!
Why are you reading the lines of your hands, when God has YOUR name written on His!
Why do you trust your life in the hands of horoscopes and fortune tellers? Like you said, what if they annonce your impending death, what good does it do to you? Just live and let live, for crying out loud!

It's not just believing in horoscopes and fortune tellers. It's the prediction of the future. Isn't it the same concept as believing in God! If you believe in God, you believe that he knows your path. It's only natural for humans to wonder about the future. You may have faith in God but could still wonder about your future.
Personally I don't believe in God but I should because every girl I've been with seems to. Every night at one point or time, they'd be screaming out his name. When I look around, I don't see him; I think those chicks are playing a joke on me. - TUNA
They are definately playing a joke on you. Girls like to fake many things.
Touché. - TUNA
