MTA Strike
Nothing better than waking up in the morning to find out that the subways are on strike. I know that they've been talking about the strike for the last week or so but I don't think anyone really thought they were going to go through with it. There was talks about the strike starting last Friday but that didn't happen and then they pushed it to Monday night. I didn't even really think about alternative routes to work until I turned on the TV this morning to hear that they actually went on strike. So of course I freak out. The TV made it sound so bad where everyone was walking to work. So I put on my boots and am ready to start walking 50 blocks to work. Luckily, it wasn't as bad as the news had stated and I found a cab less than a block away from my apartment to go to work. I did, however, have to share the cab with two other passengers but who cares...I didn't have to walk my 50 blocks. My only issue now is that after work, it'll be worse and I might actually have to walk home since everyone will be trying to go home at the same time and catching cabs.
I'm even worried about my car ride to the airport tomorrow. My car service said that there may be delays but I really hope that they pick me up. I wouldn't want to miss my flight home!
